Virgin Pulse Integrates with Apple’s HealthKit to Improve Employee Well-Being
Users’ Data Syncs With Apple HealthKit to Give a Complete Picture of Health, Enable Employers to Drive Even Higher Daily Engagement and Sustainable Behavior Change
Framingham, Mass. - (October 20, 2014)
Virgin Pulse, the market leader in the rapidly-growing employee health engagement category, today announced its integration with Apple’s HealthKit platform, continuing the company’s innovative approach to driving daily engagement and sustainable healthy behavior change that improves employee well-being and productivity.
Data collected through Virgin Pulse’s well-being programs can now be sent to Apple’s Health app if users choose, making it even easier for them to engage with their well-being and giving them and their health care providers a complete picture of their health. Tracking health and fitness data helps people become more aware of their well-being and paves the way for healthy, sustainable behavior change that leads to a healthier, more productive workforce.
“When people aren’t focusing on and meeting their own health and well-being needs, it’s impossible for them to engage and be their best selves at work or in life,” said Chris Boyce, CEO of Virgin Pulse. “Our integration with Apple’s HealthKit platform allows employers to more effectively support their workforce with the tools employees want to use to take better care of themselves and improve their well-being. Research shows that well-being is the most significant driver of productivity in the workplace. This integration provides people with a simple way to manage their health and fitness data and offers employers another tool to help create a thriving workforce that’s ready to perform at it’s peak.”
The Virgin Pulse mobile app, available in the App Store, puts the benefits of Virgin Pulse programs at employees’ fingertips. When users decide to share their data from Virgin Pulse programs with Apple Health, their data is automatically sent to the Apple app each time the user opens the Virgin Pulse app. Program data, including step counts from Virgin Pulse’s proprietary Max™ wearable fitness device, is synced with the Apple Health app, giving users a simple, complete view of their health and fitness data.
“This integration is another example of Virgin Pulse’s commitment to integrating with leading consumer apps and devices employees want to use to improve their health and well-being,” added Boyce. “The health and wellness space is one that’s constantly evolving, and we’re excited to integrate with Apple to offer another way to help employers engage employees and create a workforce with the energy, focus and drive necessary to thrive at work and in life.”
