Employee Wellbeing Month Draws Support from More Than 200 Companies

June 1 kicks off the 7th annual Employee Wellbeing Month, focused on engaging employees in healthier lifestyles

Framingham, Mass. - (May 20, 2015)

June will mark the kick-off for the 7th annual Employee Wellbeing Month, a month-long initiative designed to help business leaders learn new ways to engage employees in healthy habits and lifestyles. This year, more than 200 companies have pledged their support, joining sponsoring companies Virgin Pulse, the Strategies to Overcome and Prevent (STOP) Obesity Alliance, the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease and WorldatWork.

For seven years, companies participating in Employee Wellbeing Month have celebrated the workplace’s role in helping to create healthy employees. It highlights how healthy company cultures drive employee productivity and engagement – molding better business. This year’s participants include some of the world’s biggest and most forward-looking companies coming together to shine a spotlight on employee wellbeing. Click here for a full list of Proud Supporters.

New this year, Proud Supporters of Employee Wellbeing Month were invited to participate in an activity challenge. Physical activity is a major factor in employee wellbeing, and this year’s challenge provides an opportunity for any company, regardless of its location, to motivate employees to be more active during the month. Employees will use their personal devices and mobile apps compatible with the Virgin Pulse platform to measure and track their activity. The top-ranking teams will receive a donation to the charity of their choice.

Last year’s challenge participants took nearly 12 billion steps, averaging nearly 9,000 steps each per day. Participating employers and employees are encouraged to promote at least one employee health activity in the workplace and share their success stories on social media (tweet to @VirginPulse using hashtag #EWM15).

There is still time to become a Proud Supporter of Employee Wellbeing Month. To pledge your organization’s support and for more information and resources about workplace wellbeing or a full list of Proud Supporters, please visit
