Who are you?

The  Sr. HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a critical “role up your sleeves” member of our People team dedicated to supporting the growth and success of the business and our people.  Responsibilities of this role are complex, large scale, and dynamic, with a laser focus approach on the goal of enhancing business performance and Virgin Pulse’s status as a world-class employer.

 

The right person for this role is a results oriented business partner who happens to have a broad generalist background in talent development, culture, change leadership, driving business performance, succession planning and coaching, who thinks like a business person and acts like an owner – because at Virgin Pulse, the HRBP is the right hand partner to the Executive Leader.  Reporting to the Director, HRBP & Talent Management, the Sr. HRBP role requires a highly energetic, super positive, growth-minded HR professional who loves engaging with our people and brings a big personality and a big passion for changing healthcare.  

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

 

  • Partner with Executive and Operational Leaders on people-related strategies, and design and deliver people plans that improve effectiveness, anticipate hiring and development needs and help achieve overall business goals.
  • Establish a deep understanding of our values and mission and help to advise the evolution of our culture and dispersed workforce.
  • Collaborate across People teams (JEDI & Employee Experience,Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, People Operations, etc) to deploy timely, effective, and scalable programs to grow the business.
  • Build, lead and iterate on HR programs that support strategic objectives and drive employee engagement & retention.
  • Proactively advise leaders in employee life-cycle areas such as hiring, promotions, performance management, and terminations.
  • Utilize data to help inform guidance around people and organizational strategies.
  • Lead senior business executives through review processes including competency-based performance calibrations, org planning, individual development plans, and compensation alignment.
  • Partner closely with business leaders on change management to develop consistent strategies and tactics to help leaders manage change. 
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure training and career development needs are met. 
  • Hands-on approach to monitor and influence the "pulse" of the organization to ensure a high level of employee engagement and retention.
  • Manage a high-volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves" or push-back on initiatives for thoughtful and strategic planning, scaling for size. 
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills while emulating Virgin Pulse’s core values.
  • Assist hiring managers with interviewing as requested.

What you bring to the Virgin Pulse team

    • Minimum of 7+ years of experience with dynamic, creative and challenging responsibilities as a strategic partner working with a distributed team. 
    • Strong alignment with Virgin Pulse’s values.
    • Experience with global business practices and able to integrate programs into a global, scalable framework. 
    • Deep understanding of HR strategies & programs, including but not limited to: leadership coaching, employee engagement, DEI&B (known as JEDI at Virgin Pulse), organizational design, compensation, workforce planning, policies & compliance, talent development and change management.
    • Ability to present facts and recommendations in a clear and concise manner with strong presentation skills.
    • Very professional and personable, able to build and maintain rapport across all levels of the organization.
    • A trusted advisor, comfortable giving and receiving feedback at the executive level.
    • Outstanding judgement and ability to balance the needs of the company, leaders and employees.
    • Unquestioned integrity and a confident presence to effectively solve sensitive employee issues.
    • Ability to drive organizational change through thought leadership, relationship building, strong business acumen and the ability to derive insights from data.
    • Bachelor's Degree in business, HR, or related field required; MBA highly appreciated.
    • PHR or SPHR with strong knowledge of employment laws is a plus.
    • Employee Relations fact-finding and resolution experience highly appreciated.
    • Experience working with healthcare and/or technology companies is desired.
    • Experience leading change efforts within a fast-paced, geographically dispersed organization, with rapidly shifting skills/capabilities required.
