Press Release

Providence, R.I. - (September 10, 2018)

Virgin Pulse announces that GSK has been crowned the Most Active Organisation in its May 2018 Global Challenge.  The Virgin Pulse Global Challenge is a workplace wellbeing programme that encourages exercise, mindfulness and healthy habits at work, leading to more engaged and productive employees, improved culture and reduced costs to the organisation.

Arne Hugo, Vice President, Global Employee Health & Wellbeing at GSK says “We’re so proud of our employees’ achievements and to be crowned as the Global Challenge’s Most Active Organisation.  We’re committed to lead the way in how we support our people’s health, wellbeing and personal development and will continue to help our people strive to be their best every day”.

On May 23, 2018, over 270,000 employees in 144 countries went on a journey to change their lives for good. They walked, ran, swam, cycled, rowed and danced their way around the world on a virtual journey that helped them build and embed new, healthier habits.

Each year, over 800 organisations participate in the challenge, and receive a ranking for their overall employee health score. The score is calculated based on a variety of health metrics, ensuring that the ranking reflects a holistic view of the organisation’s overall wellbeing.

Virgin Pulse CEO David Osborne congratulated all the organisations and employees that took part and made the May 23 Global Challenge a success. “It’s amazing to see so many organisations that are committed to supporting their employees’ health and wellbeing journey. We look forward to continuing our mission of changing more lives and businesses for good in 2019.”

The next Global Challenge kicks off on October 17, where more organisations all over the world will be taking their employees on a journey towards better health. More information about the Virgin Pulse Global Challenge can be found at .
