The fourth annual Thrive Summit was held last week in Scottsdale, AZ at the stunning Westin Kierland Resort and attendees told us it was a tremendous success! With more than 400 clients, prospects, consultants and partners in attendance, we received rave reviews for delivering a beautiful, thoughtful, seamless, educational, inspiring and seriously fun event. Thrive Summit 2017 empowered attendees with the knowledge, skills and insights to build employee experiences they can use to drive new levels of employee engagement.

Opening remarks from Virgin Pulse President & COO, David Osborne, and CEO, Chris Boyce set the inspirational and motivational tone for the entire event. Key trends for the upcoming year included the increasingly well documented benefits of wellbeing and engagement programs in improving business performance, building a great culture, driving employee engagement, and reducing healthcare costs.
Dr. BJ Fogg, Virgin Pulse Science Advisory Board member, shared ways to explain key aspects of human behavior to others within your organization and social circles.
Dr. Ron Goetzel, Virgin Pulse Science Advisory Board member, discussed new and emerging research on workplace health promotion programs and their impact on employee health, medical costs, and productivity outcomes.
Shawn Achor gave a compelling, and often funny, presentation on the science of happiness.
Dr. Susan David, Virgin Pulse Science Advisory Board member, shared the psychological skills critical to thrive in times of complexity and change. Dr. David also held a book signing for her WSJ #1 Best Seller, Emotional Agility.
David Osborne and Ron Hildebrandt, SVP of Products at Virgin Pulse, shared insights into the future of the employee experience; including exciting upcoming enhancements to the Virgin Pulse platform.
Hannah Ubl and Scott Zimmer from Bridgeworks presented a fun and interesting way to encourage better understanding and collaboration across generational divides.
Tony Tjan, entrepreneur, strategic advisor, and venture investor shared his thoughts on channeling the power of good people and authentic culture into enduring value. Attendees were also treated to a signing of his book, Good People.
Dr. David Katz, Virgin Pulse Science Advisory Board member, gave attendees tips to help convert what we know about lifestyle as medicine into what we do about it. Dr. Katz’s expertise in nutrition, weight management and the prevention of chronic disease offered attendees a new level of motivation to bring back to their employees.
A variety of wellbeing activities and fun networking opportunities were offered throughout including morning yoga & meditation, 5k run/walk events, and cocktail parties. Breakout sessions in the afternoons included tracks dedicated to client presentations, product and technology trends and expert and analytics insights.
Many attended the expansive partner pavilion to see the latest innovations in wellbeing technology.
