Bersin by Deloitte Talent Trends Part 2: Employee Feedback, Pulse Surveys, and Analytics

November 22, 2017 / Employee Engagement

In Deloitte’s recent talent trends report, Key HR Technology Disruptions for 2018: Productivity, Design, and Intelligence Reign, industry thought leader and analyst Josh Bersin delves into the key components influencing HR technology and how they will change the way we work.

In this two-part blog series, we’ve highlighted two of the major disruptors to HR technology that will make a profound impact on the employee experience.

Last week, we discussed how employee wellbeing is transforming the way business leaders impact business outcomes like employee engagement, performance, recruiting, and retention.

Some of the technologies that have seen the most innovation and have made the most waves in the last couple of years are the ones that support employees to perform their best, every day, and can also provide insights on the impact of the tools HR is using, company programs and even employee behavior.

“Feedback, Engagement, And Analytics Tools Reign”

In the talent trends report, Bersin emphasizes that “You cannot maintain positive employee experience without listening to your people on a continuous basis.” Organizations will begin to move away from annual surveys and instead collect feedback from employees more frequently to better understand the trends, issues and variables impacting employee engagement in real-time.

As a leader, it’s important to build a relationship and enable continuous feedback to understand the root cause of what is working for your people and what isn’t.

What if your employees knew you cared about them, provided opportunities for growth and a sense of purpose? What would that mean for your organization?

As Bersin notes, annual surveys are a thing of the past. When opportunities for two-way dialogue are baked into peoples’ daily habits, employers can gather meaningful insights about their workforce and business objectives, while employees can simultaneously influence future HR and wellbeing decisions from the bottom up. When organizations demonstrate that employees input is valued, engagement increases, and business results follow.

This framework of communication also opens the door to deliver real-time coaching, contextual micro-learning, and can help optimize HR investments.
